4 Prominent People From Bornu State That Died In April 2020

Borno is a state in the north-eastern part of Nigeria with a large population of people.

Below are four prominent men from Bornu State who died in the month of April 2020:

1. Abba Kyari: He was the chief of staff to President Muhammadu Buhari from 2015-2020. He died on the 17th of April 2020 due to complications he suffered from coronavirus.

2. Modu Sheriff: The father of two term governor of borno state Ali modu sheriff. He died on the 24th of April 2020. Before his death, he was the Galadima of borno emirate, he died due to a fire incident in his residence.

3. Umar Elkanemi: He is the immediate past Emir of bama in borno state. He passed away on 27th April 2020, though the cause of his death was not disclosed by the state government, but rumour has it that he might have contracted the the coronavirus.

4. Muhammad Goni: He was a former democratically elected governor of borno state from 1st October 1976 – 30th September 1983. He was said to have contracted the coronavirus. He died due to complications from the virus on 29th April 2020.
